ARRL VE Testing

A Volunteer Examiner (VE) coordinated test session will be offered at 10:00 a.m., during the GrayHamfest®, at the Gray United Methodist Church, just east of the Appalachian Fairgrounds.

Pre-registration is not required, walk-ins are welcome.


Types of FCC License Tests :

Questions will be drawn from the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) sanctioned Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (VEC) question pool in effect for the date.

Note:  The FCC has eliminated the requirement to pass a Morse code test for any amateur license, effective Feb. 23, 2007.

Note:  Books or other reference materials are not allowed during testing.

Directions:

  1. Take the directions toward the GrayHamfest® at the Applachian Fairgrounds.  (MapQuest® Map)
  2. Just east of the Fairground entrance, you will find the church (above) on Chapel St.(between Oak St. and Ford St).
  3. Drive around to the back parking lot of the church on Maple Dr. (below) and enter the test session at the rear.
