ARRL VE Testing

10:00 a.m.
A Volunteer Examiner (VE) coordinated test session will be offered at 10:00 a.m., during the GrayHamfest®, at the Gray United Methodist Church, just east of the Appalachian Fairgrounds.
Pre-registration is not required, walk-ins are welcome.
Types of FCC License Tests :
Questions will be drawn from the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) sanctioned Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (VEC) question pool in effect for the date.
- Technician Class License (35 Questions)
- General Class License (35 Questions)
- Amateur Extra Class License (50 Questions)
Note: The FCC has eliminated the requirement to pass a Morse code test for any amateur license, effective Feb. 23, 2007.
Bring:
- Identification: One legal photo ID (driver's license, passport, school ID, etc.) or two forms of other ID (Social Security card, birth certificate, utility bill, bank statement, postmarked envelope, etc.)
- Upgrading: An original of your current FCC License or CSCE must be presented for review and a copy included with your test material.
- $14 Exam Fee (Exact cash appreciated)
- A soft-lead pencil with eraser
- Calculator (as needed)
Note: Books or other reference materials are not allowed during testing.

Directions:
- Take the directions toward the GrayHamfest® at the Applachian Fairgrounds. (MapQuest® Map)
- Just east of the Fairground entrance, you will find the church (above) on Chapel St.(between Oak St. and Ford St).
- Drive around to the back parking lot of the church on Maple Dr. (below) and enter the test session at the rear.
